El Fenn, Morocco

Riad El Fenn is a very special place: enchanted, quiet, sensual, elegant and perhaps the most beautiful riad in the medina.

It’s spread out generously over four intertwined inner courtyards, a multitude of terraces, chill-out lounges and pools. In addition to Moroccan handicrafts, works of art by William Kentridge and Bridget Riley adorn the walls. Every afternoon Moroccan mint tea with sweets is served in one of the courtyards. Breakfast is also home-made and of course organic. Vanessa Branson's boutique hotel has 21 rooms as well as a separate riad, only one minute away from the main building, for larger groups or families.

Our favorite place is the rooftop terrace with breathtaking views over the city and on a clear day the snow-capped peaks of the Atlas Mountains.

El Fenn tops off its offering with its own hammam area. A place to finally leave everyday life behind and sweat the last remnants of stress and toxins out of your body and soul.
